Summer grads join Class of 2018

Summer grads join

91福利导航 High School's Class of 2018 grew by 26 on Wednesday as the school celebrated its summer graduates at a special ceremony at William S. Hackett Middle School.

After completing their required coursework during the summer, the newest graduates joined the 536 members of the Class of 2018 who crossed the stage in June. They are part of the largest 91福利导航 High graduating class in more than a dozen years.

Superintendent Kaweeda G. Adams, keynote speaker at the event, told students they’re probably getting a lot of advice at this point in their lives. She reminded them that they’ve known most of life’s important lessons since kindergarten, and shared some wisdom from “All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten,” by Robert Fulghum.

Quoting Fulghum, she said, “No matter how old you are, when you go out into the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.”

Also at the ceremony, soon-to-be graduate Zaria Haizlip led students and families in the Pledge of Allegiance. 91福利导航 High freshman Sinaed Caplis sang the national anthem, and Leadership Academy Assistant Principal Nicole Newman sang, “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
