Board committees
In addition to our regular meetings, the Board of Education also operates several committees which help guide the work of our district. Members of the public are welcome to attend any and all of these committee meetings.
The Building Visitation Committee is a "committee of the whole" which means that all board members are on this committee.
Board members visit each school each year to better understand how the district mission, vision, goals, and policies are implemented, to build relationships with building principals and staff, and to celebrate school accomplishments.
Typically this committee does not have separate meetings. Instead, topics are discussed during board meetings.
The chair’s primary role is to provide administrative oversight and support to ensure that every school receives a visit each year, and that the school visits are accomplished consistent with relevant laws and policies.
