The following is an important back-to-school message from Principal Sanchez-Gayle:

It is my pleasure to welcome new and returning families to what's going to be a great year at Sheridan Prep! We are thrilled to have students physically back in our school building and classrooms. Our staff members are excitedly awaiting the laughter, energy and enthusiasm of our students! We expect the 2021-22 school year to have more normalcy and we look forward to the possibility of hosting more in-person and community-building events. I am sure all of this will make for an amazing year!

Please make sure to follow us on social media to keep up with of all our announcements, notifications, and events. We post regularly on  and Instagram (@SheridanPrep). We are also initiating a new two-way communication platform that will help you to keep in contact with your student's teacher. The platform is called Kickboard and sign-in information will be coming home in backbacks at the start of the school year. Learn more about our school on SPA's page on the district website - where you'll also find this year's school supply list. It's also important to make sure you're receiving SchoolMessenger notifications. If not, please follow these instructions.

Below are important dates to keep in mind as we begin the school year:

  • Sept. 2: grades 1-2 only (8 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.)
  • Sept. 3: grades 3-5 only (8 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.)
  • Sept. 8: ALL students (8 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.)
  • Sept. 30: Back to School Blast (location to be determined)

As a reminder, masks are required (regardless of vaccination status) in all district buildings. Masks are encouraged, but not mandatory, outside on school grounds.

We are honored to have your children as our students at Sheridan Prep and I feel very fortunate to serve as your principal! It is great to be a part of a community where students, teachers and families care for each other and strive to build meaningful relationships that support the academic and social-emotional growth of our students.

As always, feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or concerns at (518) 475-6850 or zsanchez@albany.k12.ny.us . I look forward to working with you to support our students to meet their goals.

Let’s make is a Super Star year!
