FACS class combines life lesson and healthy snack

A Myers eighth grader shows off a completed jar of pickles.

Larry Drew’s Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) students got themselves into a pickle on Thursday!

After learning about food preservation, past and present, . They canned tomatoes, carrots, peppers, beets and cucumbers from the Myers garden (plus produce donations from family and friends) and will get to taste the “fruits” of their labor in a few weeks.

Hands-on learning is the best kind of learning!
