‘Tis the season for locally sourced, handmade holiday ornaments!
On Wednesday, students in Erica Cubello’s art classes at 91¸£Àûµ¼º½ High School sold pinecone ornaments to their classmates and others looking for beautifully decorated holiday baubles.
Cubello and her students recently found the pinecones on a walk through the neighborhood, and they brought them back to school and made them into works of art. A bonus – all ornaments purchased were festively wrapped.
Proceeds from the sale will go toward a field trip they hope to take to MASSMoCA this spring. If you missed the sale but want to donate, email Cubello at ecubello@albany.k12.ny.us. The student artists will be selling other works through the year, so stay tuned!
