  • Chipotle fundraiser Monday – Avoid cooking dinner and support our school! The 91¸£Àûµ¼º½ High School PTSA will host a fundraiser at the 17 New Scotland Avenue Chipotle restaurant on Monday from 4-8 p.m. Our school will receive a third of the proceeds donated. Learn more.
  • Music industry seminar Wednesday – Students in the Music Industry after-school program and members of the Tri-M Music Honor Society can can take a seminar about the real-world music industry with SUNY Oneonta Music Professor Joseph Michael Pignato this Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in room 4202.   • Robotics team seeks to capture title – The scene was INTENSE at MVP Arena Friday, where Falcon robotics team 1493 and some 50 other teams from around the region (and world) are vying in qualification matches through Saturday morning to reach the finals that afternoon. .
  • Best Buddies bingo bash – Best Buddies threw a Disney-themed bingo bash on Thursday, complete with Disney-themed snacks, crafts and prizes for the winners. In Best Buddies, students with and without intellectual disabilities get together weekly after school for friendship and fun. .
  • Author talks true crime to students – Author Candace Fleming spent Wednesday in the school library, and Forensic Sciences students were spellbound as she recounted the story of Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb, two wealthy students who murdered a 14-year-old neighbor in Chicago in 1924.   • Falcon composer, musicians perform at Tufts – Former Falcons continue to dazzle with their musical talents, and two of will perform in a Tufts University chamber group featuring a piece written a third. Former Falcon Hunter Harville-Moxley will present his master’s thesis concert at 7 p.m. Saturday. Elli Sol Strich ('19) will play French horn and Amelia Colafati ('20) will play violin.   • Summer arts scholarships – The state Office of Cultural Education announced Tuesday the availability of $168,000 in scholarship opportunities for students to attend regional arts programs this summer.  starting April 1, tomorrow. May 1 is the deadline to apply.

Important reminders

  • Graduation caps and gowns – Attention seniors: If you haven’t already ordered your cap and gown, please do it today to assure it arrives on time for graduation! Cost is $40. You can find the order form and more info at albanyschools.org/2023. Orders are due April 17. 
  • 'Short Play Festival' submissions sought – The Theater Ensemble is asking playwright hopefuls to submit their original short works by June 2. The festival is slated for fall 2023. Learn more.
  • Class of 2023 merch – Show your Falcon pride and help raise money for your senior prom by buying 91¸£Àûµ¼º½ High merch! When you do, the cost of tickets lowers for everyone, and the prom is more accessible to all. .
  • Free spa services for 55+ – Cosmetology students are offering free salon services to any city residents aged 55 and up on Tuesdays and Thursdays through May. An appointment is required. Learn more.
