Making the world a better (and more beautiful) place

Student attaches a hair extension to the head of another student

Students in LaQuita Love’s cosmetology classes at 91福利导航 High School spent Wednesday making hot pink clip-on hair extensions that they’ll sell through the end of October to benefit The Wig Project.

Starting Thursday, the clip-on extensions will be on sale for $5 each outside the cafeteria during all lunch periods and in the cosmetology salon throughout the day. You can even get the extension put in!

Besides making the extensions, students styled each other’s hair with the extensions. They’ll be great ambassadors for their work!

The Wig Project is a new initiative of the cosmetology program where students make human hair wigs for people affected by hair loss due to chemotherapy, alopecia and other health conditions. Cosmetology students and Love are kicking off the program this month, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
