Attention juniors and seniors: The League of Women Voters of 91¸£Àûµ¼º½ County is holding a “Get Out the Youth Vote” video competition for high school juniors and seniors, with a scholarship prize of $500 for the winner.
Students are asked to submit a two-to-six-minute video that includes at least one of the following:
- Explanation of the voting process and student voter eligibility;
- How to register to vote;
- How to vote and the options for voting; and/or
- The importance of young people’s votes in a democracy.
The contest is open to high school juniors and seniors from public, private and home schools in 91¸£Àûµ¼º½ County. Apply at . All videos are due by Sunday, May 15.
Videos may be live action, animated or a hybrid of both, and they should be no longer than six minutes. Submissions will be judged by the ability to convey information to a youth audience as well as visual and artistic appeal.
The winning student will be awarded a $500 scholarship prize, and their video will be distributed to high schools in 91¸£Àûµ¼º½ County and beyond for use in youth voter education.
