The following message is from 91福利导航 High School Principal Jodi Commerford. The school also has mailed this information home to families of freshmen who opted to return to in-person instruction beginning Monday, April 12 for the remainder of the third quarter. This is the final stage of 91福利导航 High's third-quarter phase-in by grade level. If you have any additional questions, you can contact your academy principal or guidance counselor.
Please watch for more information for all students who have opted to return to an in-person/hybrid model for the fourth quarter. Schedules and more information for the fourth quarter will be available during the week of April 12-16.
Dear Freshmen and Families:
I am excited to welcome you back to 91福利导航 High School for in-person instruction starting Monday, April 12. Our return to school will be unlike any we have experienced before due to the continued presence of, and precautions related to, the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. However, all of our preparations have focused on health and safety as our top priority.
Since you have opted in for in-person instruction for the remainder of Quarter 3 and all of Quarter 4, you will be attending your classes in-person. While a majority of your teachers are in-person, you may have some teachers working remotely. You also will be in classes in which some of your classmates have chosen to remain as distance learners. 91福利导航 High will continue to deliver an academically rigorous education program to all students, whether they attend school in-person or through a Google Classroom.
Student schedules
The school day will remain 9:15 a.m.-3:30 p.m. for our in-person freshmen during the week of April 12-16. Please watch for more information about the school day times as we look ahead to the fourth quarter and the return of all students in grades 9-12 who have opted for the in-person hybrid model.
Individual student schedules are available electronically on schooltool and will be available at entry upon arrival. The back page of your schedule will have the list of your teachers who are working remotely. We will assign you to an alternate learning space during those periods.
Student Chromebooks and personal devices/laptops
You will need to bring your Chromebook or own personal device to school daily as teachers will be teaching to virtual students as well. Please also be sure to charge your device prior to coming to school and bring your charger each day.
Please also note that if you choose to bring your own device rather than a district-issued Chromebook, our IT staff will not be able to provide technical support for your personal device. We are addressing the ability for those students with personal devices to opt for a district device during the fourth quarter; please watch for more information about that.
Headsets
You will receive a headset with a microphone to utilize in school. You will need the headset each day.
Facemasks and social distancing
- Facemasks are required to enter the building. Please bring a mask daily. If you do not have one, we will provide one to you.
- All staff members and students must practice social distancing by remaining at least 6 feet apart from others while in the building.
- Students will sign in at all learning spaces, bathrooms, offices, etc., by scanning a QR code or by paper sign-in.
- Facemasks may be removed only while eating breakfast or lunch.
Arrival
Students should arrive at school by 9 a.m. to go through routine security and receive breakfast. Where you enter the building depends on where your pod advisory class is located:
- If your pod advisory is in Building 1 (brick building), rooms 100-300s, enter at Tower 2
- If your pod advisory is in Building 2 or 4 (new academic buildings), rooms 2100-4300s, enter at Tower 2-1
- If your pod advisory is at Abrookin Career and Technical Center, enter through the main door of that building
Student IDs/transportation
Students must bring their ID to school daily, present it at entry and make sure it is visible at all times. Staff can request to see your ID at any time. If you did not pick up your ID in the fall or receive it in the mail, we will provide one to you when you report to campus in-person. Your Student ID also serves as your bus pass if you qualify for CDTA transportation.
