Schuyler Achievement Academy students inspired by the book “Danny Dollar Millionaire Extraordinaire: The Lemonade Escapade” had a personal audience Wednesday with the book’s author, Ty Allen Jackson.
The fourth and fifth grade students, members of the school’s 4th Family after-school club, have been reading the book. The book teaches kids how to earn, save and invest money through the story of Danny Dollar, who dreams of becoming a millionaire.
Jackson told students that wrote the book after his son opened a lemonade stand and didn’t know what to do with the money. After a fruitless search trying to find a children’s book about money that featured a character with brown skin, Jackson decided to write his own.
The future financiers at Schuyler were riveted by Jackson’s talk and had lots of questions for him.
Jackson’s visit was sponsored by United Way of the Greater Capital Region.
