The following is an important message from North 91福利导航 Middle School Principal Andrea Piper:
I would like to provide you with an update to the school-wide communication from March 3 and to thank you for your continued partnership and support. Our scholars are adjusting to the rules and expectations and, for the most part, are respectful and following the guidelines.
As we first told you earlier this month, students must present an active CDTA Swiper card in order to access the bus. Beginning tomorrow (Thursday, March 17), students will not be able to board the CDTA - riding to or from school - without their Swiper. North 91福利导航 Middle School staff visited every classroom this week to remind students of the change and students who had misplaced their card were given the opportunity to get a new Swiper, free of charge.
Additionally, this communication should serve as a reminder about several other expectations we wrote to you about last week:
- Face masks that cover a student’s entire face are not allowed. We support our students who choose to wear a face mask, but the mask must cover the nose and mouth only. Any full-face mask will be confiscated and the student will be provided with a disposable mask.
- Some students are arriving late to school after stopping at a local convenience store. Any students who arrive late will be marked as tardy.
- Snacks, sports drinks, ice tea, soda, energy drinks, etc. will be confiscated and returned to students at the end of the day. Snacks purchased for lunch must be clearly marked - in a brown paper bag or lunch sack/box - and will be returned to students at lunchtime. The only bottled beverage allowed is water, and it must be in a clear container.
- Students are not allowed to eat during class. This disrupts valuable learning time and will not be tolerated. The only exceptions are grab-and-go breakfast in the classroom during first period and lunch in the classroom.
Please know that these practices are in place to ensure that your child(ren) is provided with a safe environment that is conducive to teaching and learning, are on time for school and focused on their education. We appreciate your support and partnership in reinforcing these rules and expectations.
As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact school to set up an in-person appointment with you, your child and an administrator.
