Dear Families:
Hackett Middle School’s Open House will be held virtually this year on Wednesday, Oct. 6. The event starts with a welcome and introduction and proceeds to teacher presentations in your student’s Google Classroom. In addition to meeting your student’s teachers, you will have the opportunity to experience a shortened version of their school day.
Here is information about how to attend the event.
Welcome – 6-6:10 p.m.
The building principals will briefly welcome families and explain how the open house will work. You can tune into the welcome at . Please be sure when entering the Google Meet to have your computer muted.
Meet the teachers – 6:15-8:30 p.m.
In order to schedule time for you to meet with each of your child’s teachers, we will be utilizing your child’s Google Classroom account. In order to navigate Google Classroom for the purpose of Open House, you will need to know both your child’s username and password.
If you sign into your personal computer using you own credentials, you will need to access Google Chrome. When signing into Google, you will need to enter your child’s credentials. If you choose to utilize your child’s school Chromebook, please log into the Chromebook using their credentials. This will automatically bring up their Google account when accessed. Once you have successfully logged into Google, click on the ‘waffle’ button. This will enable you to see the Google Classroom icon. Click on this icon in order to access each teacher’s Google Classroom pages. The screenshot below is an example
Once inside the Google Classroom icon, you will see each of your child’s teacher classrooms. Each account has a banner, that denotes the Teacher’s Name, Period, and Day the class is taught. A google link is also included in the banner. Please click on the Google link to attend the teacher presentation using the schedule below.
