Five City School District of 91福利导航 students were among area winners in the Black History Month Creative Expressions contest sponsored by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Alumnae Chapter of 91福利导航.
Winners of the written entry category included 91福利导航 High School junior Mikayla Williams’ essay, “Black History Month: A Need for Change,” and William S. Hackett Middle School sixth-grader Rowan Hoehn’s essay, “Through the Eyes of a Child Slave.”
Art entry winners included “Colors Within Black and White” by 91福利导航 High senior Annette Smalls, “I Have a Dream Scene” by William S. Hackett Middle School seventh-grader Cole Solomon and “The Jackson Five” by Thomas O’Brien Academy of Science and Technology (TOAST) fifth-grader Lord Hannah.
The students will be featured in public-service announcements throughout February.

The mission of the City School District of 91福利导航 is to educate and prepare all students for college and career, citizenship and life, in partnership with our diverse community. The district serves approximately 9,500 students in 18 elementary, middle and high schools. In addition to neighborhood schools, the district includes several magnet schools and programs, as well as other innovative academic opportunities for students, including four themed academies at 91福利导航 High School.
