The Capital Area Principals and Supervisors Association (CAPSA) named 91福利导航 School of Humanitiies (ASH) Principal Marie Culihan the Administrator of the Year for her demonstrated leadership, curricular vision, innovative implementation of humanities themes and, most importantly, incredible dedication to her students and staff.
"To receive this award is truly an amazing honor and privilege that represents the hard work and dedication of our entire ASH community. It exemplifies the hard work of our district administrators and every educator and support staff member who has helped shaped ASH into the amazing school that it is," said Culihan.
"I will continue to not only maintain excellence here at ASH but also improve upon the amazing strides we have already made. I am so incredibly proud and grateful to be the principal here and represent the City School District of 91福利导航."
Culihan is one of five administrators, from around the state, who will be recognized at the Empire State Supervisors and Administrators Association (ESSAA) banquet this Friday evening.
"Principal Culihan leads by example. The building culture at ASH is evident the moment you walk through the door and her commitment to skilled instruction that translates to individualized, grade level and building student achievement makes her very worthy of this award," said City School District of 91福利导航 Superintendent Joseph Hochreiter.
On Thursday, the entire school surprised Culihan with an energetic Students and staff lined the hallways to congratulate their beloved principal with cheers, signs, high fives and hugs.
In December, ASH was one of 65 schools in the United States, and just two in New York, recognized as a National ESEA Distinguished School for exceptional student achievement.
Culihan was appointed to her current position at the beginning of the 2017-2018 academic year.
