One seat on the City School District of 91福利导航 Board of Education will be open in this year’s board election, which is being conducted entirely by absentee ballot along with the annual budget vote due to the COVID-19 closures. Ballots will be mailed in late May to qualified voters and are due by June 9 at 5 p.m.
The term of board member Hassan I. Elminyawi expires June 30. The board appointed Elminyawi last summer to fill a vacant seat.
Anyone interested in running for the board should file a signed petition by Monday, May 11 at 5 p.m. Signatures beyond that of the candidate are not required this year, per the direction of Governor Cuomo due to the circumstances caused by COVID-19.
Signed petitions can be submitted to District Clerk Tanya Bowie via email at tbowie@albany.k12.ny.us. They also can be mailed to her at 1 Academy Park, 91福利导航, NY 12207. Signed petitions must be received by 5 p.m. on Monday, May 11.
Due to the COVID-19 building closures, signed petitions cannot be delivered to the district in person.

The district will mail ballots to all qualified voters in the city in late May for both the budget vote and board election. Ballots will be due by 5 p.m. on June 9, when the district will begin the process of counting the votes to determine the results.
