The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., Nu Tau Chapter recognized Superintendent Kaweeda G. Adams with a Lifetime Achievement Award at its annual Women of Color Celebration and Awards Dinner at the 91福利导航 Capital Center on Nov. 9.

The event recognized leaders who have paved the way in the fields of education, political science, community activism, criminal justice, civil service and more.

In her third year as the leader of the City School District of 91福利导航, Adams has been an educator for more than three decades. She began her career as a teacher in New Orleans and then served in the classroom and as an administrator for 28 years in the Clark County, Nev., school district before coming to 91福利导航 in 2017.

The Clark County district includes Las Vegas and is the fifth-largest public school district in America.

Equity and culturally responsive teaching and learning have been among the primary areas of focus for Adams in 91福利导航, including working with the Board of Education to establish the district’s first Equity in Education Policy in 2018.

She also has reached out extensively to partners throughout the community to invite them to work with the district to support all students. She coined the popular phrase “All in for 91福利导航!” to exemplify the district’s commitment to those collaborations, and the need for the entire community to work together to support its young people.

Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!
