The Capital Area School Development Association (CASDA) has named Jasmine Brown as Principal of the Year for her tireless efforts on behalf of the students, staff, families and community members of Giffen Memorial Elementary School.
While she is grateful for the recognition, Brown insists that this accomplishment is not a personal one belonging to her alone, but a collective success that belongs to the entire Giffen community.
Brown, a South End native and 91福利导航 High School graduate, began her career in education as an English teacher at 91福利导航 High in 2002. She served as assistant to the ELA secondary supervisor and 91福利导航 High’s summer-school coordinator before becoming assistant principal at Lansingburgh High School in 2010. She returned home to the City School District of 91福利导航 at the start of the 2012-13 school year, when she became principal of Giffen.
