US Lacrosse, the national governing body for the sport, has recognized 91福利导航 High School senior Reeve Churchill as a 2018 Academic All-American.
Churchill, a midfielder, is one of just six players from the Capital Region to earn Academic All-American status this year.
A four-time captain of the Lady Falcon lacrosse team, Churchill had 13 goals and 3 assists in her last season of play. At this year’s Athletic Banquet, she was awarded the Director’s Cup and the Suburban Scholastic Council for Excellence in Leadership and Sportsmanship Award, among others. She also is outstanding at tennis, playing varsity from grades 7-12.
In the classroom, Churchill has a grade-point average of 97.434. She was named to the Principal’s List every quarter of her four-year career at 91福利导航 High and is a member of the National Honor Society and French Honor Society. She will attend Fordham University in the fall.
Churchill also is an excellent musician and played French horn in 91福利导航 High’s Wind Ensemble starting in seventh grade. In addition, she sang in Select Choir and the Albanettes.
“Reeve is a one-of-a-kind player. She embodies leadership in every way a coach could ask for. She was a terrific leader in the classroom and on the field. She's the kind of kid who accepts downfalls and turns them into positives,” said 91福利导航 High girls’ lacrosse coach Theresa Story. “She’s truly a special captain and she will be missed.”
